Developmental Editing and Coaching

  Let’s start with your idea. During this discovery call, we focus on the big picture. What is your book about? How will you be using it once it is finished? Why this book now? Who is your reader? This 30-minute call will help us determine what assistance you are looking for in this project. I will give initial feedback and suggest the best way I can support you, either as a full ghostwriter or developmental coach and editor.

$50 for a recorded and summarized report.

 I review your concept, summary, and outline. 

You will receive feedback on the clarity of your idea, direction, and overall structure along with a timeline to help you complete your book. 

This is great for: Writers with an idea or concept who are stuck on how to organize the content, or writers with multiple ideas, notes, or drafts who need help refining material into a concise, cohesive outline and writing plan. 

$400

 I will research your idea, review your notes or drafts, refine your premise, and prepare an outline for a 25-40k word book.  

This is great for: Writers with a solid idea who need help clarifying their message and organizing their material. From there, they can take the reins and write following the plan I prepared for them.

$800

This is an encouraging, collaborative space where you can discuss your roadblocks, refine your ideas, or get the motivation to keep going.  

You provide pages of your draft prior to a once weekly Zoom session. In this hourly meeting, you will receive feedback on the content and how it aligns with your concept. You will learn to reestablish focus and direction while gaining confidence in your writing abilities. While this is a month-by-month service, please plan on at least a six-month partnership, or work together until your book is finished.

This is great for: Writers who don’t want to waste time going in the wrong direction, who often feel stuck, or need accountability to get their project over the finish line. 

$750 per month

 I  read your entire draft and provide a detailed critique focused on clarity, organization of ideas, flow, point of view, voice and strength of premise. This is a timely process, and you can expect a full report between 14 and 20 business days.

This is great for: Writers who have a first or second draft and are ready for the refining portion of the book development process.

Note* Developmental Editing is not line editing or proofreading. While I naturally catch most grammatical errors and typos, it is not to be used as a final edit.
